NTTA looking for owner of wedding dress found on roadway in Frisco

The North Texas Tollway Authority is searching for the owner of a wedding dress that employees found inside a box last week in Frisco.

NTTA spokesman Michael Rey said a roadside safety services crew found the dress late Friday on the Dallas North Tollway near Gaylord Parkway.

In a photo that the NTTA shared on social media, the dress appears to be in good condition. Based on information found with the dress, Rey said, NTTA officials believe it was last worn about 20 years ago.

“This is not a new wedding dress,” he said. “We do have some identifiers, but this is clearly a dress that was worn at one time.”

Rey said at least one person had asked about the dress but ended up not being the owner.

“They might not know it fell off their vehicle, and we’re just trying to reunite them with what is obviously a treasure,” he said.

If the dress isn’t claimed by the owner within 90 days of its discovery, it will be auctioned off, as is the case for other intact items that NTTA finds, Rey said.

“It’s not a thing, per se; it’s a memory and a cherished connection,” he said. “We’re hoping that the person who lost this sees this and contacts us to get their precious dress back.”

Anyone who thinks that the dress may belong to them or who believes they may know its owner is asked to email the North Texas Toll Authority at TalkToNTTA@ntta.org.
