Weak cool front brings in scattered storms Monday

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — Have you been missing out on the rain? Well your luck may change at the beginning of the work week as a weak cool front moves into the area.

A cool front will start dropping to the south on Monday making its way into our northern counties by mid morning, close to Houston by the evening, and near the coast by the late evening. This front will bring our next chance for cooling downpours and storms so make sure you keep the umbrella handy. Storms could bring heavy rain, lightning, and gusty winds. Some storms may become strong with winds over 45 mph. With the extra cloud cover and rain, temperatures should top out in the low 90s.

This cool front is expected to stall near the coast keeping a 60% chance of rain in on Tuesday.

When will the next summer front impact us?

Our next cool front is expected to move in Monday bringing a chance for rain. This front will stall giving us another chance for scattered downpours Tuesday. Slightly drier air moves in Wednesday and Thursday which will keep rain more isolated.

Will this front cool us down?
We aren’t looking at much cool air moving in behind this front but the extra bit of cloud cover and rain should help keep our temperatures in the low 90s.
