Man killed, 2 others injured in shooting at Far North Dallas bar, police say

A man was killed in a shooting early Saturday at a Far North Dallas bar, Dallas police said.

About 1:15 a.m., officers answered a call at the The Hideaway, in the 14900 block of Preston Road near Belt Line Road, police said. There, they found three people with gunshot wounds.

All three were taken to a hospital, where 45-year-old Ngarge Spears was pronounced dead, police said. The conditions of the other two weren’t provided.

A man believed to be the gunman in Spears’ death fled east in a car, described as a silver or gray Cadillac, with a woman who’d been seen talking with Spears in the bar, police said.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact police at 214-671-3675 or david.grubbsjr@dallascityhall.com and reference case No. 140803-2021.

Crime Stoppers is offering a $5,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest and indictment. Tips can be submitted anonymously by calling 214-373-8477.
