Hot weather continues

The August hot spell continues this week, with Wednesday highs in the mid 90s to near 100. The heat index will be even more oppressive near 105 during the hottest part of the day. Skies will remain mostly sunny and winds will be breezy. South winds around 10-20 mph will provide at least some relief from the heat.

The next few days will offer more of the same, with continued heat and humidity through Friday, before rain chances return to North Texas this weekend. A shift in the weather pattern is expected with increasing increasing rain and storm chances both Saturday and Sunday. Those showers, and the accompanying cloud cover should drop temperatures back below normal for several days.
