Another chance for scattered downpours Tuesday afternoon

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — It’s a mostly dry start to your Tuesday, but the moisture combined with daytime heating will bring another chance of rain mainly in the afternoon to early evening. Heavy rain, lightning, and gusty winds will be possible with any storm. The overall coverage of the storms today will not be as widespread as the yesterday and the day before.

What can we expect for this week?
Rain chances continue through the week with scattered storms possible each day through Thursday. Rain chances decrease at the end of the week and into the weekend although a couple of isolated storms cannot be ruled out these days.

Is there anything to be concerned about in the tropics?
We are keeping a close eye on Tropical Storm Grace that is currently moving west through the Caribbean. Its latest track takes it west towards the Yucatan Peninsula as a tropical storm by midweek. It may then move into the Bay of Campeche making another possible landfall in Mexico as a hurricane. Right now, it is looking more likely that this system will stay well to the south of SE TX but we will keep a close eye on it. You can stay on top of everything happening in the tropics with our daily tropical update.
