Drier air moving in will allow our temps to soar

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — The front that will drop our humidity is sitting just to our north. Once it moves through, we’ll enjoy more comfortable mornings, but very hot afternoons. At least it’ll be a “dry” heat!

Will this front actually bring us cooler weather?
Not really, sorry. What the front will do is eventually blow in some drier air to make for a lovely humidity break the latter half of the week. This dry air will also allow the temperature to again spike close to 100-degrees by Thursday. The front also has the added benefit of protecting us from a tropical disturbance in the Gulf of Mexico.

What will the tropical disturbance in the Gulf of Mexico do this week?
The disturbance only has a 30% chance of development due to high wind shear. As the front pushes into the Gulf, it is expected to force the area of low pressure northeastward toward Florida. You can stay informed on the tropics with our daily tropical update.
