Police investigating death of 9-year-old fatally struck by car in Grand Prairie parking lot

Grand Prairie police are investigating the death of a boy who was hit by a car in a parking lot Saturday afternoon.

Police responded to the 2600 block of Mayfield Road, near U.S. Highway 360, about 2:15 p.m.

The 9-year-old boy, whose identity has not been released, was struck by a car in a private parking lot on private property, police said.

He was taken to the hospital, where he later died.

The incident is still under investigation, police said.
