Here’s how Nicholas will impact Houston’s weather again on Thursday

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — Nicholas has slowed down over Louisiana and will still impact our weather in Houston Thursday.

Moisture wrapping around the tropical depression’s circulation will keep the sky mainly cloudy for most of the day. A few showers could even pop up, especially east of I-45. Where it stays fairly cloudy, temperatures will warm into the mid 80s. Where the sunshine becomes more abundant, temperatures will climb to around 90.

What can we expect for the end of the week?

Friday should yield more sunshine and highs around 90. There’s a less than 20% chance you’ll get any rain.

How is the weekend shaping up?

Gulf moisture picks up a notch Saturday and Sunday, so we have30-40% rain chances in the forecast. With the added clouds and moisture, temperatures will peak in the mid and upper 80s.

What can we expect next week?

Moisture will start moving back in by the end of the weekend and into next week bringing back chances for daily downpours. A weak cool front will also try to approach as we head into the end of next week.

Is there anything else of concern in the tropics?

There are two tropical systems with a high chance for development over the next 5 days, but neither is a concern to Texas at this time. You can get a full overview of the tropics on our tropical update page.
