Grapevine has documented a total of 6,496 cases of the coronavirus, 85 deaths and 5,885 recoveries among residents, according to the Tarrant County website.
As of Thursday, Grapevine has 611 active cases and Tarrant County has 37,473 active cases. Grapevine’s active cases represents a 14.4% increase over the number of active cases, 534, reported last week for the city.
Vaccines against the coronavirus opened on March 29 to all adults. The Department of State Health Services has posted information about when and where Texas residents can get a vaccine.
In May, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced that people fully vaccinated against COVID-19 didn’t need to wear face masks or social distance at gatherings of any size. However, the CDC changed course on its masking guidelines on July 28, recommending face coverings even for vaccinated people in parts of the country where coronavirus is surging — such as North Texas.
