Southlake will spray for three nights after four positive West Nile mosquito samples found

Southlake will spray for mosquitos after four samples that were positive for West Nile Virus were reported by Tarrant County Public Health.

The targeted ground spraying will begin Thursday night starting at 9 p.m. and last through 5 a.m. Friday.

The areas are near the:

  • 2200 block of Shady Oaks Drive,
  • 3200 block of Woodland Drive,
  • 700 block of Ashleigh Lane,
  • 100 block of Meadowlark Lane.

Spraying will continue Friday and Saturday nights at the same times, weather permitting.

The city of Southlake’s contractor uses “an ultra-low volume application of a water-based permethrin product in areas where larvicide and other measures have not been effective,” according to a city news release.
