Fall front moves in late Tuesday bringing cooler temperatures

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — Big changes are coming up for the weather here in southeast Texas. A cool front is expected to move in Tuesday evening bringing scattered rain showers ahead of the front followed by cooler air.

It’ll be another super steamy day before the front arrives. High temps Tuesday afternoon will flirt with the upper 90s and feels like temps will approach 105.

What can you tell us about this week’s front?

A cool front is expected to move into Southeast Texas Tuesday afternoon-evening. Ahead of the front, we will be looking at a broken line of showers and storms moving in from the north. Behind the front, cooler and drier air is expected to move in making for a very pleasant second half of the work week.

How cool are we talking?
Low temperatures Thursday are expected to be in the upper 50s with afternoon high temperatures in the low 80s.

Is there anything of concern in the tropics?
At this time, no. Tropical Storms Peter and Rose are expected to stay out in the Atlantic far away from the Gulf. You can get a full overview of the tropics on our tropical update page.
