Man accused of arson after fire at Fort Worth school Saturday night, officials say

A 61-year-old man has been accused of arson after a school building in Fort Worth was set ablaze Saturday night, police say.

Joseph Terry Dorsey was arrested after investigators determined the fire at Atwood McDonald Elementary was intentionally set.

Dorsey, 61, faces charges of burglary of a building and arson, according to the Fort Worth fire department.

Firefighters were called about 10:40 p.m. to the school, in th 1800 block of Barron Lane, near East Loop 820, where they found the large school building on fire.

The building sustained significant damage and crews rescued one person from the fire, who was taken to a hospital and treated for smoke inhalation. That person’s condition was unknown.

No additional information about the fire was immediately available.
