56-year-old man killed after pickup crashed, overturned in Dallas’ White Rock, police say

A 56-year-old driver was killed after his pickup crashed and overturned in the White Rock neighborhood early Saturday, Dallas police say.

Witnesses said a gray Chevrolet Silverado was going south in the 9900 block of Garland Road, near Peavy Road, about 12:20 a.m. when the driver tried to swerve around another vehicle and sped into the median. The truck then crashed into trees and overturned, witnesses told police.

The truck rolled and stopped on the northbound lanes in the 9800 block of Garland Road.

The driver, Mark Blanton, 56, was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

No additional information was immediately available.
