Our much anticipated cold front arrives today

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — The strongest cold front since late April is moving through Texas, but we’ll have to sweat it out for one more afternoon.

Patchy fog is possible early this morning as the sky partially clears. Temperatures will fall into the mid 70s with high humidity. Temperatures will spike ahead of the front into the upper 80s and low 90s with just a 30% chance for rain. The front will push into Houston late in the afternoon, and you should feel the humidity and temperatures dropping after sunset.

What kind of weather will the front bring us for the weekend?
Amazing weather! You can expect sunshine, lows in the 50s, and highs in the 70s both Saturday and Sunday. It will be breezy behind the front from Friday evening to Saturday morning, then you can expect calmer winds through Monday.

What’s the coldest it will get behind the front?
The coldest morning should be Wednesday when Houston drops down to near 50 and some communities north and west of town fall into the upper 40s.

Is there anything of concern in the tropics?
