Big warm up ahead but another cool front in the forecast

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — The Gulf breeze is back, and that means warmer weather ahead.

Temperatures will only dip into the mid-to-upper 60s by sunrise, then rebound into the upper 80s during the afternoon. We are expecting a partly cloudy sky with an outside chance for a stray shower near the coast.

Is there any rain expected this week?
Overall rain chances remain very slim throughout the work week due to a lack of moisture. An isolated shower or two can’t be ruled out near the coast, but most of us will stay dry. We’ll have to wait until next week for a better than 20% chance of rain to return.

How does the weekend look?
It will be noticeably warmer and more humid by the weekend. The Gulf breeze will keep low temperatures near 70 with highs in the mid-to-upper 80s. There will be enough moisture for a 20% chance of a shower.

When will our next cold front arrive?
It looks like you’ll be waiting for at least a week. We have the next cold front penciled in for Wednesday, October 27th.

Is there anything of concern in the tropics

Texas is normally done with hurricane season by mid October. Chief Meteorologist Travis Herzog explains whyhere. We will be monitoring a developing system in the Pacific that could send moisture into Texas and combine with next week’s front for a higher chance of heavy rain.
