25-year-old arrested in car accident that left 1 in critical condition, Dallas police say

A 25-year-old man is in police custody following a car accident that left one person in critical condition early Sunday, police said.

Officers responded to a call about a major accident shortly after 2:30 a.m. in the 1700 block of North Cockrell Hill Road, near I-30, in Ledbetter.

According to police, a car that had been traveling northbound in the left turning lane of North Cockrell Hill Road had struck a person walking in the crosswalk.

The victim, whose identity was not released, was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Police arrested the driver of the car, identified as Devin Reynolds in jail records, in the accident.

Reynolds was booked into the Dallas County jail and faces a charge of intoxication assault with a vehicle. A bond has not been set.
