Remnants of Hurricane Rick, Pacific cold front to bring weather changes

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — Get ready for a lot of weather changes over the next few days.

First up is the remnants of Hurricane Rick. After a foggy start to the day, you can expect a slight chance of a few cooling showers from late afternoon through the evening. Temperatures warm into the mid 80s.

Rain chances spike Wednesday as a strong Pacific cold front blasts in from the west.

The cold front arrives Wednesday morning with a line of strong thunderstorms. Some storms could even produce severe wind gusts up to 60 mph, and we can’t rule out isolated hail or an isolated tornado. Cooler, drier, and breezy air is expected to move in behind the front Wednesday evening.

How windy will it get behind the front?
Winds will actually peak on Thursday with northwest winds at 20-30 mph and gusts over 40 mph.

How does the weekend look?
It looks fantastic! We’ll enjoy lots of sunshine with morning lows in the 50s and highs in the upper 70s to low 80s.

What can we expect for Trick-or-Treat time on Halloween?
It should be nearly perfect with temperatures in the 70s, light winds, and low humidity under a mostly clear sky.
