2 men took turns sexually assaulting 14-year-old girl after luring her into their van, police say

Two men are behind bars after Dallas police say they lured a 14-year-old girl into a van last week and sexually assaulted her multiple times.

Lukemond Olatunji, 43, and Vincent Thompson, 40, each face one count of aggravated sexual assault of a child. Thompson’s court-appointed attorney, Carl Hays, declined to comment on the case Thursday. Olatunji’s attorney could not immediately be reached for comment.

Officers were called just after 6 p.m. Saturday to a gas station in the 100 block of West Ann Arbor Avenue and met with the girl, who was “crying, disheveled, disoriented and extremely scared,” an arrest-warrant affidavit says. Police noted that she has been diagnosed with autism.

The girl told police she was walking down a West Dallas street in her school uniform when Olatunji and Thompson pulled up to her in a white van. She said she got in the van because she believed they were going to drive her to her grandmother’s house, the affidavit says.

Instead, they took her to another location and both sexually assaulted her, according to the affidavit. The men then drove her to a motel, where they took turns sexually assaulting her while one of them held her down, the affidavit says.

The girl told police that Olatunji and Thompson said they wouldn’t take her home if she didn’t comply, the affidavit says.

When the men left the motel room to get condoms, the girl ran away and was found under Interstate 35E by a witness, who drove her to the gas station and called police, according to the affidavit.

Officers detained the two men at the motel. The men told police they picked up the girl because she didn’t have anywhere to stay and they wanted to help her, the affidavit says.

Olatunji and Thompson were both in custody at the Dallas County jail Thursday. Olatunji’s bail is set at $250,000 and Thompson, who also is being held on a probation violation, has $300,000 bail.
