Man faces murder charge in connection with slaying of mother in Duncanville

A 27-year-old man was arrested Tuesday in connection with his mother’s fatal shooting in Duncanville earlier this week, police said.

Steven Hill is being held in the Dallas County jail on a charge of murder in the slaying of 48-year-old Nissa Danielle Evans. His bond is set at $1 million. It’s unclear whether he has an attorney.

Just before noon Monday, Duncanville police responded to a call about an unconscious person in the 200 block of Merribrook Trail and found Evans inside with a gunshot wound. She was pronounced dead in her home.

Police did not say who made the call to police.

Hill was arrested by the Duncanville SWAT team around 1:40 a.m. Tuesday in a hotel parking lot, police said. Police did not provide a more specific address.

No other details about the incident were made available.
