Cold start to the weekend, followed by a warming trend

Friday begins frosty for some with morning lows in the 30s and 40s. The highest potential for frost will be east of Dallas where a frost advisory is in effect through 9 am Friday. If you have tender vegetation that you don’t want to be harmed by the frost, cover them or bring them inside.

Much milder weather is on the way. After a frosty start both Friday and Saturday, pleasant fall weather is in store this weekend. Expect sunny skies and warmer temperatures. Highs will be in the 60s Friday and Saturday, with low to mid 70s likely Sunday. South winds will increase to 10 to 20 mph Sunday into Monday.

Daylight Saving Time ends Sunday at 2 a.m. Don’t forget to set the clocks back one hour. Also, be sure to check the batteries in smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors.

Our next cold front will arrive late next Wednesday followed by a drop in temperatures
