Allen ISD’s chief financial officer accepted a similar job in Plano ISD. His last day is this week

Allen ISD chief financial officer Johnny Hill is leaving his post after he was selected for a position as Plano ISD’s CFO last week.

The district addressed Hill’s resignation in a board of trustees workshop meeting on Monday. His last day is Friday.

“I understand that you have decided to take an unbelievable opportunity in another district that you can’t pass up even though you love us the very most,” board president Amy Gnadt said.

“I do, actually,” Hill said.

“Yes, ma’am. I look at it as an opportunity for my family. But I want to say this: I have absolutely loved working here.”

Allen ISD spokesperson David Hicks said the district is accepting applications, but a timeline to replace Hill has not been established yet.

Hill, who has more than 25 years of experience in both public accounting and education, has worked for the district since September 2020.

Before joining Allen ISD, he worked as the assistant superintendent for business, financial and auxiliary services in Lake Travis ISD for more than a decade, and served in various finance and business roles at Seminole ISD, Perryton ISD and Dimmitt ISD, according to a release from the district.

“All right, well, you will not be a stranger for sure. And we wish you the very, very best in your new adventures,” Gnadt said.
