Three cool fronts over the next 10 days

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — It might feel like Fall went into hiding over the next couple of afternoons, but three cool fronts are in view of our 10 day forecast.

As humid Gulf air blows in, you can expect low clouds and patchy fog to develop by sunrise Tuesday. Temperatures will bottom out around 60 degrees then warm into the low 80s under a partly cloudy sky.

How long will these warm temperatures last?
We will continue to see highs in the low 80s through Wednesday, but a cold front arriving Thursday morning will bring temperatures down to near normal or below normal through Saturday. Our average high at this time of year is low 70s with average lows in the low 50s.

When can we expect the other two fronts?
The second front will arrive late Sunday or early Monday morning, and the third front is penciled in for Thanksgiving Day.

So will it be cold for Thanksgiving Day?

It’s too soon to pin down the timing of the cold front expected for Thanksgiving Day, and the timing of the front could shift forward or backward by one day. Ahead of the front it will be very mild and humid, but once the front blows in, it is should feel festively cool outside. It is also possible that the front could bring showers and thunderstorms, and we will surely keep you updated as the holiday draws near.
