Near record heat continues, but a cooldown is on the way

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — If you are enjoying the unseasonably warm temperatures, you are going to love our forecast for the work week!

Temperatures this morning are starting in the upper 60s and low 70s, and will be warming into the low 80s by the afternoon. Also Monday, expect mostly cloudy to partly sunny skies. A passing shower or two will be possible but overall rain chances remain limited.

How long will this wave of warmth last?
The near record temperatures will continue at least through Wednesday. A weak cool front could drop temps a couple of degrees Thursday but the 80s will return by Friday. Relief is possible though for next weekend as a stronger cold front moves in for the first weekend of 2022.

Is there any rainy weather in sight?
We will have slight chances for rain almost every single day this week as more moisture moves in. Our next weak front moving in Thursday morning could bring a slightly better chance but overall coverage looks limited at this time.

Will temps ever feel like winter?
A stronger front will move in next weekend, that one will bring in a more legitimate cooldown.
