Above normal temperatures continue

After a foggy start, gradually clearing skies, along with increasing south winds Sunday afternoon, led to very warm temperatures again. The temperature was approaching 80 again in DFW by 4 pm, while the western parts of North Texas actually reached the 90s!

Expect the unseasonably warm pattern to continue through the end of the year. This will turn out to be the warmest December on record for North Texas.

A couple of cold fronts will make their way into North Texas in the upcoming week. The first one will bring a low chance for a few showers late Tuesday night into early Wednesday morning. but with only a minimal drop in temperature. A second chance of rain will occur late Friday night (probably after we ring in the New Year) and continue into Saturday morning. But the biggest change will occur Saturday night when much colder air arrives, and we go from above normal to below normal temperatures overnight. Expect freezing temperatures both Sunday and Monday mornings.
