A hard freeze happens tonight for North Texas. Here’s what to expect from the weather this weekend

A strong push of cold air moved into North Texas on Thursday, aided by a gusty north wind. The wind will diminish tonight and temperatures will fall into the upper teens to mid 20s. Take any necessary precautions with your pets and plants.

Friday will feature plenty of sunshine but it will be chilly with highs in the upper 40s to low 50s. A chilly southeast breeze will increase during the afternoon.

Milder weather will return this weekend with highs back into the 60s on Saturday. There is a chance for a few showers Saturday, mainly to the east of the DFW area.

Another cold front arrives Sunday, although not as strong. Highs will be back in the mid-50s which is normal for this time of year.
