Cooler weather returns, warming through the week

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — A mostly quiet weather pattern has settled in after a stormy weekend. Cool temps will be around for a few days, and then it’ll get warmer but not too warm later in the week. An isolated shower is possible late on Tuesday and Tuesday night.

The National Weather Service Houston confirmed a total of six tornadoes touched down Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning. They were reported in Humble, Kingwood, Montgomery, near IAH Airport, Dayton, and in Spring Branch. Today they are sending out another survey team to see if any more tornadoes touched down.

Another strong cold front will move through Friday night and give us a cool but dry weekend.

Is there any more rain coming?
Outside of an isolated light shower Tuesday afternoon and night, it’ll be dry through the work week.

When is our next cold front?
Temperatures will warm up into the low 70s by Friday and then our next cold front looks to roll in very early Saturday. This will set us up for cool and pleasant weather for the Houston Marathon Sunday.

What is the weather outlook for the Chevron Houston Marathon?
Right now it looks like a runner’s delight! It will be chilly at the start of the race with lows in the 40s. Afternoon highs will warm into the 50s.
