Another cold night, then a big warm-up

Sunday started out in the upper 20s, but at least the wind died down. By afternoon, lots of sun and decreasing winds led to highs reaching the low to mid 50s.

A ridge of high pressure will move east of the region Monday and Tuesday. That will lead to a returning south wind, which will boost temperatures into the lower 60s Monday and mid 70s on Tuesday. Tuesday is also going to be a windy day.

The next blast of cold air arrives on Wednesday. Thursday will be another one of those cold, windy days with temperatures struggling to get to 40 degrees. A hard freeze is on tap for Friday morning before temperatures slowly moderate back up to seasonal levels by next Sunday.
