42-year-old man fatally shot Monday morning in Uptown, Dallas police say

A 42-year-old man was fatally shot early Monday in Uptown, police said.

Dallas police responded about 2:15 a.m. to the shooting in the 2600 block of Howell Street, near Routh Street.

Officers found Jerriun Lamont Maxie lying on the ground near Sidebar, a bar, with a gunshot wound.

Police said Maxie was “involved in a disturbance” with another man who police suspected shot him.

Police described the suspect as 25 to 35 years old, wearing a white hoodie and dark pants.

The investigation is ongoing, and no additional information was available.
