2 teens shot in DeSoto drove to a Dallas gas station and called police, authorities say

Two 17-year-olds who were wounded after a shooting late Saturday in DeSoto drove to a gas station to call for help, police said.

DeSoto police were called to a gas station across the city line in Dallas where the two teens, a Dallas boy and a Garland girl, had driven after reportedly being shot about 9 p.m. in the 1400 block of Deborah Avenue, near North Hampton Road. The girl called 911 from the gas station to report she and her boyfriend had been shot, according to a DeSoto police news release.

The teens were taken to a Dallas hospital. The boy was in critical condition and the girl was stable, police said Sunday. Police did not release the teens’ names.

It is unclear why the teens were in DeSoto, but investigators believe they planned to meet there.

Police said an investigation into the shooting is ongoing but did not release additional information. Police do not believe the shooting poses a threat to the public.

Anyone with information may call DeSoto police at 469-658-3050.
