Sunny Wednesday before storms return Thursday

The National Weather Service damage survey confirmed Monday evening’s tornado in Leonard was an EF-1, with top wind speeds of 90-95 mph. After that brief round of thunderstorms Monday night, sunshine returned across North Texas Tuesday, with temperatures rebounding to near 70.

Some brief morning fog is possible early Wednesday before becoming mostly sunny. Warmer weather is slated for Wednesday and Thursday with highs in the upper 70s. Along with the warmth comes higher humidity, which could lead to some thunderstorms Thursday evening. The Dallas Fort Worth area will once again be under a Marginal Risk for severe storms.

For Friday and the weekend, the sunshine will be widespread with highs in the 60s and 70s. Sunday is the first official day of astronomical spring.
