Fire danger and storm threats

After seeing very gusty winds Thursday and Friday, the wind diminished on Saturday, providing some relief for firefighters in Eastland County.

But winds will increase again on Sunday. And that has resulted in another Red Flag Warning for high fire danger for everyone west of Fort Worth. By Sunday night that south wind will increase the humidity once again, setting the stage for thunderstorms.

Monday will be a day to be weather aware. A strong storm system will move into the area with widespread welcome rain, but also a threat for severe storms Monday afternoon and evening. At this time it appears the highest risk will be southeast of Dallas, but some severe storms are likely in DFW as well. More specifics to come later as details become more clear.
