Man dead, another seriously wounded in Red Bird motel shooting, Dallas police say

One man is dead and another is in serious condition after they were shot early Saturday at a motel in Red Bird.

Police were called about 2:30 a.m. to the 4100 block of Preferred Place, near Interstate 20 and Cockrell Hill Road, where they found a 37-year-old man and a 53-year-old man with gunshot wounds.

Both men were taken to a hospitl, where James Ahmadi, 53, was pronounced dead.

Police said Tuesday that the 37-year-old man was in critical condition.

The investigation is ongoing, and police have not released additional details.
