Man found fatally stabbed, beaten along Trinity River levee near downtown, Dallas police say

Dallas police are investigating after a man was found fatally stabbed and beaten along a Trinity River levee on Saturday.

Police were called just before 10 a.m. to the 1200 block of Rock Island Street, off of Riverfront Boulevard just south of downtown Dallas.

Officers found the man, who appeared to be in his 50s but has not been identified, lying face-down and partially in the water. He was pronounced dead there, and police said he had been stabbed in his upper torso and had beaten in the face.

The motive and circumstances around the slaying are still being investigated.
