Man, 18, faces murder charge after Rowlett shooting

An 18-year-old man is accused of murder after a shooting at a gas station in Rowlett last week, according to police.

The shooting happened Wednesday at a Valero gas station on Lakeview Parkway, authorities said. Aric Morgan, 19, was found shot several times. Morgan was taken to a hospital in critical condition and died Thursday.

Rowlett police identified Nevan Lydens, 18, as the suspect in Morgan’s killing. Lydens was arrested in Garland shortly after the shooting, authorities said.

Authorities have not released information about the circumstances surrounding the shooting. Lydens is being held in the Rockwall County Jail on a $1 million bond.
