Severe storms likely late Monday

DFW Airport climbed to 86 on a beautiful sunny Sunday afternoon. With increasing south winds, the humidity has also been increasing. And that in turn sets the stage for storms.

A good chance of rain and thunderstorms returns late Monday. Widespread rain is possible, especially from early evening through the midnight hour. Though any rain is very much welcome, some storms unfortunately may become severe. All types of severe weather will be possible: large hail, damaging winds, and perhaps a few tornadoes. Please stay WEATHER AWARE.

Behind the storms, the air will be drier and temperatures will soar into the upper 80s on Tuesday. But a cold front will swing through the area Tuesday night. It will cool us back down into the 60s and 70s for the rest of the week.
