Crews repairing gas leak near Buffalo Speedway in West University

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — A gas leak in the West University area Monday evening has forced some street closures, according to city officials.

Officials reported the gas leak at about 7:15 a.m. As a result, the 6200 block of Buffalo Speedway between University Boulevard to Amherst Street remains closed.

Emergency crews are on scene conducting air monitoring to ensure the safety of nearby residents. Please seek alternate routes if travelling in the area.

No evacuations were needed.
