Police investigating after Dallas water utility workers find body in east Oak Cliff field

Police are investigating after workers with Dallas Water Utilities found a body Tuesday in a vacant field in east Oak Cliff.

Officers were called about 3:30 p.m. to the 2600 block of 52nd Street, near East Ledbetter Drive, and found a man dead from “homicidal violence,” police said.

The Dallas County medical examiner’s office is still working to identify the victim, and the motive and circumstances around the slaying are being investigated, police said.
