Man stabbed victim multiple times before burning his body in a north Oak Cliff alleyway, police say

A Grand Prairie man was arrested Thursday after Dallas police say he stabbed and burned a man before leaving him in an alleyway in north Oak Cliff.

Manuel Tellez, 45, faces a charge of murder in connection with the slaying of 52-year-old Anthony Moreno. It’s unclear whether he has an attorney.

Officers were called around 9:18 a.m. Sunday to the 1300 block of Kings Highway, near North Edgefield Avenue, and found Moreno’s body in an alleyway.

Police said earlier that day, Tellez stabbed Moreno multiple times before leaving the scene to change clothes. When he came back, he poured gasoline on Moreno’s body and then lit him on fire.

Tellez is being held in the Dallas County jail. His bond has not been set.
