Welcome rain is on the way

Saturday was a cloudy, warm and humid day, with a high of 84. And of course, it was windy again with gusts once more over 40 mph.

Thunderstorms developed late in the afternoon across Oklahoma, where a Tornado Watch is in effect. But those will remain well north of DFW overnight.

A big weather change on Sunday will bring widespread welcome rain and thunderstorms to North Texas, especially in the late afternoon and evening. Heavy downpours are possible with the potential of receiving 1 to 3 inches of rain. Overall, some strong thunderstorms are possible, but widespread severe weather is not anticipated.

The rain will likely extend into Monday morning, which means a wet morning commute is possible. Beyond that, most of the work week looks dry and pleasant.
