Woman arrested after shooting that wounded 3 people in South Dallas

A 30-year-old woman was arrested in connection with a shooting in South Dallas early Saturday that injured three people.

Lawanda Williams was booked into jail Saturday afternoon on three charges of aggravated assault. It’s unclear whether she has an attorney.

Dallas officers responded about 12:20 a.m. to a shooting call at 2600 Meyers Street, near Al Lipscomb Way.

DART police were flagged down about a body and found a 20-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman who had been shot. The two were taken to a hospital, with the man in critical condition.

Police said a 22-year-old woman had been arguing with Williams, who pulled out a gun and started shooting. The 22-year-old was also was struck and was taken to the hospital.

The 19- and 20-year-olds were waiting for a ride nearby and were not part of the disturbance, police said.
