North Texas to be hot and dry this week during first glimpse of summer weather

Temperatures in North Texas are expected to be above normal this week after multiple rounds of storms hit the region.

High temperatures in Dallas-Fort Worth are expected to be in the mid- to upper 90s through next weekend, and afternoons will be breezy.

There is an elevated fire risk in areas west of Interstate 35, the National Weather Service said.

Sunday’s record-high temperature of 95 could be broken as the region gets its first glimpse of summer, KXAS-TV (NBC5) meteorologist Grant Johnston said.

Here’s a look at the forecast this week:

  • Sunday: 95/74. Mostly sunny.
  • Monday: 95/74. Partly cloudy and hot, with a slight chance of thunderstorms.
  • Tuesday: 94/72. Partly cloudy and hot.
  • Wednesday: 93/72. Partly cloudy and hot.
  • Thursday: 95/72. Partly cloudy and hot.
  • Friday: 95/70. Partly cloudy and hot.
