Unseasonably hot temps continue into the work week

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — The heat continues this week as a ridge builds over us keeping us hot and mostly dry. Our next slight chance of rain comes this weekend.

You’ll want to take the necessary precautions from this heat and keep an eye on your pets and loved ones.

Monday will be similar to Sunday with mostly cloudy skies in the early morning hours and mostly sunny skies in the afternoon. High temps are expected to top out in the low to mid 90s with heat index values near 100.

What can we expect next week?
A heat ridge builds in overhead keeping temperatures hot… highs should climb into the low to mid 90s each day. Rain chances remain very slim to nonexistent through the work week.

When we could get more rain?
Our next chance of rain comes this weekend as a boundary pushes south towards SE Texas. Ahead of this boundary, we could see some isolated rain but chances are slim for now.
