Hot week ahead, then weekend rain chance

After a brief round of overnight storms to the northeast of DFW, it’s back to sunny, dry, and warm weather today. While not as hot as the record heat over the weekend, today’s high will be about 10 degrees above normal for mid May, topping out in the low 90s.

Hotter weather will return Tuesday through Friday with highs in the upper 90s. Record highs will likely be broken.

The rest of the work-week looks dry before a weekend cold front brings thunderstorm chances Saturday. This front will also bring cooler air with highs coming back down into the 80s.
