Near record heat and an Ozone Action Day Monday

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — We will start Monday morning with temperatures in the low 70s and partly cloudy skies. A little bit of patchy fog can also not be ruled out. Skies should clear quickly leading to an afternoon with mostly sunny skies and highs in the mid 90s.

Monday will also be an Ozone Action Day. Unhealthy levels of ozone could form in the peak afternoon hours so if you are sensitive to ozone, you may want to spend some of those afternoon hours indoors.

When is our next chance for rain?
At this time it looks like we’ll have to wait until the weekend. That means we have a hot, dry, drought-building work week ahead. The good news is that there’s a decent chance a front will get close enough next weekend to increase our rain chances beyond the 20%-30% we currently have the in forecast.
