Record highs within reach before weekend cool-down

Highs in the upper 90s Wednesday through Friday will threaten more record highs before a strong weekend cold front arrives. This cold front will bring a chance of thunderstorms late Friday into Saturday and much cooler weather for the weekend.

Highs on Saturday and Sunday will be in the low 80s. Low temperatures will be refreshing in the 60s and perhaps even the upper 50s by Sunday morning.
