Summer weather returning to Dallas-Fort Worth for Memorial Day weekend

Warm weather is returning to North Texas in time for the holiday weekend after a brief cool front moved through the area this week.

Summerlike weather are expected as high temperatures creep into the mid- and upper 90s through Memorial Day, the National Weather Service said. The weekend will be windy, though, with breezes of 15 to 25 mph from the south through the holiday.

The wind will also bring higher humidity to the area, KXAS-TV (NBC5) meteorologist David Finfrock said.

The chance of rain will return to North Texas in the middle of the week, forecasters say.

Here’s a look at the forecast for the holiday weekend:

  • Saturday: High of 96. Sunny, windy and hot.
  • Sunday: 73/97. Mostly sunny, windy and hot.
  • Memorial Day: 73/94. Partly cloudy, windy and hot.
  • Tuesday: 74/94. Partly cloudy, breezy and hot.
  • Wednesday: 73/91. Partly cloudy and warm with a 30% chance of scattered storms.
