Isolated showers through Wednesday, a better chance by Thursday

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — There’ll be just enough moisture around Tuesday and Wednesday for isolated showers to form when the sea breeze comes in.

It’ll continue to be breezy, hot, and humid.

Are there any other chances for rain this week?Yes, but don’t get your hopes too high. A weak cool front will move into southeast Texas in the Thursday through Friday time frame. There should be enough moisture and instability in the atmosphere to give us a few storms along with the rain showers. The added clouds and rain may even drop our temps a few degrees.
Is there anything worth watching in the tropics?
We are keeping an eye on the remnants of Agatha. It made landfall in Mexico just west of Puerto Angel as a category 2 hurricane late this afternoon. Its moisture is expected to emerge in the Gulf of Mexico during the first few days of June. It’s no real concern to us right now, but it could bring widespread tropical rains to South Florida and the Bahamas. You can learn more about it in our daily tropical update.
