Flash flood warning expires for Tarrant County as storms move across Dallas-Fort Worth

A flash flood warning was issued for portions of Tarrant County on Friday evening as storms moved through North Texas.

The warning was issued about 6:45 p.m. by the National Weather Service in Fort Worth for the southeastern part of the county. It expired at 8:45 p.m.

Two to three inches of rain was falling in Tarrant County when the watch was issued. The weather service said another one to two inches of rain, as well as flash flooding, were possible in the evening.

Videos posted to Twitter showed flooding in Fort Worth on Friday evening.

Storms will move east over Dallas-Fort Worth through the evening, the weather service said. A slight chance of storms can be expected during the first part of the weekend before the area warms up Sunday.

The weather service said if people encounter flooded roads, they should turn around and find an alternate route.
