HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — Get ready for a hot week ahead! An upper level high will center itself over Texas keeping the state hot and dry.
Monday morning will start off with temperatures in the mid to upper 70s, but they will quickly rise into the mid 90s by Monday afternoon. Heat index values are expected to exceed 100.
How hot will it get this week?
Hot enough to challenge records by Wednesday. Temps will soar to the middle and upper 90s this week. And the humidity will be high so a Heat Advisory at some point is a possibility.
When is our next chance for rain?
The next chance comes this weekend as a weak front approaches SE Texas. At this time, it looks like rain chances will be slight with just a 20% in for Saturday and Sunday.
