Wednesday’s funeral in Uvalde remembers 10-year-old Annabell Rodriguez

The Uvalde community said goodbye Wednesday to another student killed at Robb Elementary School last month.

Annabell Guadalupe Rodriguez, 10, was one of the 19 students killed in the May 24 massacre by an 18-year-old gunman. Two teachers also were fatally shot.

Annabell’s service was held Wednesday afternoon at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.

Her family said in her obituary that she was a “sweet young girl” who loved the color blue. She liked watching TikTok videos and spending time with her sisters and family.

“My poor sweet little girl,” Annabell’s older sister Lidia Anthony Luna wrote on Facebook the day of the shooting. “Why god why these sweet babies who didn’t deserve this, [they] were all happy for summer vacation.”

Annabell’s cousin, 9-year-old Jackie Cazares, also was killed in the shooting.

Annabell is survived by her parents and two siblings.

Funerals for the victims are scheduled through the end of June.
